GuardianGamer for Parents and Guardians

Everything you need to give your child a safer place to play — how GuardianGamer works, how to set up their device in a couple of minutes, what you can see, and what stays private.

What is GuardianGamer?

GuardianGamer is a safer way for kids to play the games they already love — starting with Roblox. It's a cloud gaming platform: the games run on our servers and stream to your child's device, the same way Netflix streams video. Nothing is installed on their device, and your child plays in a browser or in our app.

That cloud layer is what makes safety possible. Because the game runs through GuardianGamer, we can filter voice chat, limit who your child talks to, enforce time limits, and turn each session into a short, readable summary for you — all without changing your child's Roblox account or taking anything away from the game they love.

You manage everything from the Parent App — your private dashboard. Your child just plays; you get the visibility.

💡

GuardianGamer is for parents and guardians of children roughly 6–12. If you don't have an iPhone, the full experience also works in any browser — see Setting up your child's device below.

How GuardianGamer keeps play safe

Instead of trying to lock down or spy on your child's device, GuardianGamer changes where the game runs. Because play happens in our cloud, four things happen automatically:

  • Voice chat is replaced. The game's open voice chat is switched off and replaced with a secure overlay, so your child can only talk with friends you've approved.
  • Strangers can't reach your child by voice. Your child can still see other players in a world, but can't voice-chat with people outside their approved list. Text chat is filtered and monitored.
  • Sessions become summaries. Gameplay, voice snippets, and on-screen activity are captured and turned into a short highlight and recap — usually ready within about 20 minutes of a session ending.
  • Time and spending stay in your control. You set daily limits and allowed hours, and you see time played and any Robux spending.
🛡️

GuardianGamer is COPPA compliant. Session data is encrypted and anonymized, and stays private to you as the parent — it's never shared with Roblox, game publishers, or advertisers.

Setting up your child's device

Setup takes about two minutes and everything starts from your Parent App. First, download GuardianGamer from the App Store, or if you're on Android, Windows, or a Chromebook, sign up at guardiangamer.gg/sign-up — same features, same dashboard, no App Store required.

Once you're signed in as a parent, you choose how your child plays. Every option is gated by a pairing code you generate — nothing connects without your consent.

Pair your child's iPad or tablet with a QR code

  1. Open the GuardianGamer Parent App and sign in.
  2. Tap Gamers in the menu, then tap Start Gaming.
  3. Tap Pair child's device, then choose Set up using a QR code. A QR code appears on your phone.
  4. Hand your child their device, open a browser, and go to joinmy.gg. Tap Scan QR code.
  5. Point their camera at the QR code on your phone. The connection happens automatically — they're signed in and ready to play.
📱

Your child doesn't need to install anything from the App Store. The web app at joinmy.gg works the same and can live on their Home Screen. On Android, tap the browser menu → Add to Home Screen for a full-screen, app-like experience.

Other ways to play

  • On your phone. Hand your phone over and your child plays right there — simplest for younger kids without their own device.
  • On their own iPhone or iPad. Install the app on their device and enter the pairing code to link it to your dashboard.
  • In any browser. On a Chromebook, laptop, or Android tablet, open joinmy.gg and enter the pairing code. No download needed.

What you can see as a parent

GuardianGamer is designed to give you real signal, not a firehose. After each session, your Parent App shows you a clear picture of what happened — the moments worth seeing, and anything worth your attention.

You can see

  • Highlight reels of what your child played
  • Which games and worlds they visited
  • How long they played, and remaining time
  • Who they talked with (approved friends)
  • Robux or in-game spending
  • Flagged concerns — heated chat, new interactions
  • Daily recaps and conversation starters

You won't see

  • Raw, word-for-word chat logs
  • A live surveillance feed of their screen
  • Private messages presented out of context
  • Anything shared with Roblox or advertisers
  • Data about other children beyond safety flags

The goal is to help you have informed conversations — "I saw you built something great in Adopt Me today" — not to hand you a transcript to police.

What stays private

Trust runs both ways. GuardianGamer summarizes; it doesn't surveil. Your child plays normally, and instead of raw logs you get clear, contextual answers about what actually mattered.

  • Chat becomes signal, not transcript. Messages are processed to detect tone and flag real concerns. You'll see "two heated exchanges flagged today" — not a scroll of every message.
  • Your data is yours alone. Everything is private to you as the parent and is never shared with Roblox, publishers, advertisers, or third parties.
  • It's built to COPPA standards. Data is encrypted and anonymized by design.
🔒

Age-appropriate by design. For younger children, the point isn't to read over their shoulder — it's to keep strangers out, keep time healthy, and give you enough context to stay involved.

The GuardianGamer Assistant

The GuardianGamer Assistant is a personal helper that lives in the Parent App — your side, not your child's. It quietly follows your child's sessions in the background, then answers plain-language questions about what they played, who they spoke with, what they spent, and what's worth your attention.

You can ask things like "How long did she play today?", "Did anything concerning come up?", or "Who did he talk to this week?" and get a calm, contextual answer in seconds. About 20 minutes after a session ends, the Assistant has a clear picture and is ready for your questions.

🤖

The Assistant is parent-side only. Your child plays Roblox normally and never sees or interacts with it. It works behind the scenes and surfaces what matters to you in the Parent App. Learn more about the Assistant →

Voice chat & approved friends

GuardianGamer replaces the game's built-in voice chat with a secure overlay so your child can only speak with Parent-Approved Friends — trusted contacts whose parents you've connected with through the GuardianGamer network.

  • Game friends vs. approved friends. Anyone friended inside the game is a game friend; only children whose parents you've approved become voice-chat contacts.
  • You approve both sides. Connect with another parent, and once you both approve, your kids can voice-chat during play.
  • It travels across games. The approved-friends list works across supported games — Roblox today, with Minecraft coming next.
  • You stay in control. View, remove, and monitor every friendship, and get notified about new requests.

Screen time & schedules

You decide how much time your child gets and when. From the Parent App you can:

  • Set daily time limits that fit your family's rhythm.
  • Schedule allowed hours — zero-hour blocks prevent gaming entirely during homework or school.
  • Enable automatic bedtime shutoff so play winds down on its own.
  • Reward extra time for achievements or chores when you choose to.

Your daily & weekly reports

GuardianGamer keeps you in the loop without turning you into a monitor. You'll get:

  • Daily recaps with highlight moments from the day's play.
  • Short insights about patterns — favorite worlds, play frequency, time trends.
  • Conversation starters to help you talk with your child about their games.
  • Safety alerts — only when something genuinely needs your attention.

Managing or removing a device

You're always in control of which devices are connected to your family.

  • Add another device. Open the Parent App, go to Gamers, tap Create Sign-In Code next to your child's name, and scan the new QR code with the extra device.
  • Remove a device or pause play. Manage connected devices and time from your dashboard at any time.
  • If you stop using GuardianGamer. Your child's Roblox account stays entirely theirs — it isn't tied to GuardianGamer and keeps working normally on any device.
⚠️

Gaming feeling laggy? Close other apps and tabs, move closer to your Wi-Fi router, or use a wired connection. We recommend at least 10 Mbps for smooth cloud play.
